Over the weekend Tottenham Hotspur Academy product Harry Winks conducted an interview with the Official Site where he discussed the campaign of 2018/19, describing it as his ‘best season so far’ at Spurs.
With over 100 appearances to his name now, fans know injury has held his development back but the England international certainly kicked on last year in the eyes of many and the 23-year-old made a passing comment that he felt he’d now become an ‘important player’ for manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Understandably he’s more than pleased with that and so were fans who took to social media to react to the interview.
You’ve done so well Winksy, already so vital to us and you’re improving all the time ???? Keep it up bud

Seems a great lad, one of our own and not sure we’ve seen the very best of Winksy yet…think he has huge potential to be a star, class act all round. ???????? #COYS

If Winks can stay injury free for a good while he’s going to mash it up. Amazing how well he’s done so far with all the injury problems. What a player he could become..

smashing player is Harry. Proper players player. Expecting another big season from him and cementing himself in national side ahead of Euro 2020.

Given his age, Winks has plenty of development left to do and it’s good to hear him acknowledge that as we prepare for the coming 2019/20 campaign and if he can keep himself largely injury free once again, he should certainly expect to rack up the minutes in midfield and we’ll no doubt see more of him in an England shirt as well.
